Camp Kwando |
Nestled on the banks of the Kwando river (Eastern Caprivi, Namibia), Camp Kwando invites you to come and explore the hidden treasures of an untamed land. Capture the spirit of the African bush while sipping sundowners from the beautiful overhead deck and experience the thrill of the tiger fish and the hauntingly beautiful call of the African fish eagle.
Directions
BY ROAD
Driving on the Trans Caprivi between Rundu and Victoria Falls, you will cross
the village of Kongola (four hundred kilometer east of
Rundu and one hundred
kilometer west of
Katima Mulilo), where you are going to turn towards the
South. Twenty five kilometres further down, you will find a signpost marked
“Camp Kwando” where you will turn right for another three kilometers. You have
arrived to your destination!
BY PLANE
The camp's airstrip is that of
Namushasha Lodge, only ten minutes away from Kwando.
Coordinates are S 17° 59' - E 023° 17', elevation is 3180 feet. The runway is
more than 1100 meters long.
Orientation is 11/29 and please note that due to obstacles, there is one
single approach pattern (runway 11) and one for departure (runway 29).

New venture just south of Kwando in the Mamili National Park. Hosts will have a luxury tented camp in Mamili on the Linyandi River. The camp will have 5 tents - every tent with a private bathroom. The rest of the year the water levels are too high. Because of water and mud hosts have vehicles that will take you from Camp Kwando to Mamili and then game drive vehicles.
