Ngepi Camp

Main accommodation - Northern region

Ngepi Camp NamibiaNgepi Camp is your ideal stopover between Cape Town and Victoria Falls - or Maun or Windhoek. Situated on the Okavango River - known locally as the Kavango - this is an ideal unique safari stopover for accommodated group tours, 4x4 addicts, campers and backpackers within the panhandle of the Okavango Delta. Game viewing for four of the "Big Five", birding for +500 species, walking, mokoro/watu and canoe trails are all available as organised activities. There's no shortage of thing to do during your stay and a friendly bush lounge to spend time in, in the evenings.
Situated on the banks of the magnificent Kavango River, Ngepi Camp has plenty of shade and dappled sunlight - a feature of the Okavango. This is truly an oasis, cooled by the fantastic greenery of host gardens and grassy areas (Please keep on the Grass) and a stress relieving, peace and quiet to soak into ...

ACTIVITIES THAT CAN BE ORGANISED: Day trips to the Mahongo National Park can be arranged whereNgepi Camp Namibia four of the "Big Five" are present. In addition, the river hosts ubiquitous crocodile and hippo populations. And to the delight of many, it is not uncommon to discover the elephants along the river bank during your sunset cruise In addition to the usual African wild fare, the Park also hosts the rarer roan and sable antelope. Explore the Northern Okavango Delta further by arranging a 2 - 4 day organised trip while you are with us. Establishment love to show visitors a wonderful part of the world. Specialised itineraries can be put together for walkers and those keen to experience an adventure in a mokoro (local dugout boat) or the relative luxury of being on a houseboat, or a visit to 'Tsodilo hills' for amazing bushman art and culture.

A popular activity is to take a mokoro or canoe safari extending from two hours to two days on the Kavango River. On the overnight sojourns, one can include camping on an up river island for the night, then drift or paddle back to camp. This arrangement is particularly popular with the birders as there are over +500 species to be seen. This is a feature that the Caprivi strip is particularly famous for - the best birding in Namibia. The wooden deck overlooking the river is an ideal setting for watching the sunsets for which Africa is famous and you must try host unique swimming pool in the river (protected of course) which is really quite an amazing experience.

For those simply keen to relax and sunbathe, the setting is perfect and the camp offers a wonderful social atmosphere in the evenings. It'a an event in itself to spend time in host very gregarious bushpub and listen to the tales of the day.
