West Coast Recreation Area

More information on West Coast Recreation Area located between Walvis Bay and Ugab river.

The entry to the area is not restricted and free of charge. It is located between Walvis Bay and Ugab river which also forms the southern border of Skeleton Coast Park. The visitors are allowed to drive on public or indicated roads only.
The angling is free but there are limitations on allowable catch. More information can be obtained from Swakopmund tourist office or from Central Reservations office in Windhoek.
Camping allowed at the designated camping sites only.

Camping sites are with very basic facilities (long-drop toilets, showers). Visitors have to provide own camping equipment, food and fire wood.
Fuel is available at Mile 108.
Banking facilities are available in Swakopmund and Henties Bay.
