Etusis Lodge

Drive to Etusis Lodge fr om Windhoek or Swakopmund in about 2.5 hours, or use the mainliner bus fr om Windhoek to Karibib, wh ere we can arrange to meet you. Or fly direct to our own airstrip.

Gisi Eimbeck invites you to sample the Lodge's excellent accommodation, a wide range of outdoor activities, superb opportunities for spotting a wide variety of resident mammals, birds and insects or, if you prefer, just to relax in idyllic surroundings.

Our accommodation ranges from comfortable bungalows, luxury tents and campsites to a four-bedroomed farmhouse sleeping 2 - 8 people.

Activities include guided or un-guided Walking and Hiking, Nature and Scenic Drives, Sundowner Drives, Rock-climbing and Horse-riding - including lessons.

The Lodge is also home to the Etusis Foundation founded by Volker, Susanne and Per Ledermann. The foundation is a non-profit making organisation established to conserve the endangered Hartmann's Mountain Zebra.

The word “Etusis” describes a “place wh ere you can dive down deeply” and refers to a lake below a waterfall which can be found in walking distance from the lodge. The stunning landscape and its tangible history make a stay at Etusis a very special experience.

Experience the most memorable moments of your journey during a horseback ride on a Basotho Horse, a game drive or a hike in the hills of the Etusis Nature Reserve. Enjoy magnificent Namibian sunsets while sipping your sundowner. Relax at the pool in our little green oasis in the middle of the semi-desert. We offer different kinds of accommodation, ranging from camping and self-catering options to private bungalows with half board. Some of our bungalows are wheelchair-accessible.
